The emperor asked Bodhidharma, 'What is the highest meaning of the holy truths?' Bodhidharma said, 'Empty, without holiness.' When the emperor
asked, 'Who is facing me?' Bodhidharma replied, 'Don't know.'
'Don't know' is a method in which the mind does not spend all its time lost in thinking and does not seek what it knows already. It is 'openness'. Yet to some people the suggestion 'don't know' is taken to mean 'don't know anything' or even that the view is against education, and which is because people take things to mean something literally, and even absolutely. If one is a 'don't know' buddhist or, say, libertarian, how would they know it? If knowledge is absolutely necessary, how can you sleep at night?
Don't know buddhists don't exist.
Don't know don't exist.
Did it work?
Don't know libertarians won't exist.
Don't know won't exist.
I think we've got something.
Don't know dumbshits can't exist.
Don't know can't exist.
It's amazing, isn't it?
