Dan Dan, As usual your puns are excellent. But if we are to merely exchange puns without addressing a theme, why would we need a theme? Simultaneously, if we address the theme without witticism, what would distinguish our -1 liner- thread from any other? Therefore, it seems to me, if we are to maximize our success at this, we are obliged to do both: address the theme substantively, and do so with wit. As a reminder, the theme is: "The theme of the battle is "Road transportation: cars, trucks, buses, motorbikes and bicycles"." Laird I post this reminder as an explanation, in case you wondered why my posts in that thread keep drifting back to the subject. One other question for now? It's been called a "1 liner" thread. But more than one of the posts (including my own) have included more than one sentence, and or exceeded one line (on my 1440 X 900 monitor). I'm willing to follow the rules, both in spirit and in letter. But perhaps we should distinguish whether this "1 liner" specification is a rule, or a guideline. I hope Laird will share his guidance with us on that. And again, my thanks to Laird & Dan for this interesting concept; and inviting me to participate. |

Sear, I helped Laird "plan" the competition, and I think the 1-liner title is not a strict rule but a guide. I myself suggested I wanted to see several lines if possible, but Laird seems to like very short replies. Do keep in mind that the winner will be chosen by the whole audience, not just Laird. So make longer posts if you like. Laird has been banned, so he won't reply to you here. Coming to think of it, you have been banned too. And this post itself is likely to disappear as soon as it is posted, if I haven't been banned already. Un solo territorio, una sola bandera. Patria libre o morir! |

Oh dear Sher,
We are so very pleased that you are here but it is sad that the board is closing because we would surely have enjoyed more of your cleverly written posts. 
Your posts are replete with a Latina fire that excites the passions of your male readers, while the females can only wish they had your grand command of language, reminiscent of how your uncle The General must also have commanded respect.
